Tokyo, Aug 31 (IANS) | Indian para athletes Mariyappan Thangavelu and Sharad Kumar performed brilliantly in the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics to win silver and bronze medals in the men’s high jump T42 and T63 categories respectively. With Thangavelu and Sharad winning medals, India has made its best performance in this Paralympics, taking a total of 10 medals to its name. Thangavelu finished the season third with a jump of 1.83m.
The gold medal of this event was won by Sam Grave of America. He jumped 1.88 meters. On Tuesday, ahead of Thangavelu and Sharad, shooter Singhraj won a bronze medal in the men’s 10m Airpistol SH1 event.
