Mahakumbh Nagar, Amrit Views: Despite an incident like a stampede at the Mahakumbh Mela, devotees continue to come and according to the fair administration, on the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya on Wednesday, 2.78 crore people took a dip in the Ganges and Sangam till 8 am on the auspicious occasion of Mauni Amavasya. According to data released by the fair administration, a total of 2.78 crore devotees, including more than 10 lakh Kalpavis, bathed in the Ganges and Sangam on Mauni Amavasya till 8 am.
According to the fair administration, 19.94 crore devotees have taken a bath so far at the Mahakumbh Mela, which started on 13 January. An official said that a large number of people continue to arrive in the fair area and the district administration has also opened the gate of Chandrashekhar Azad Park for crowd control so that people can sit in the park instead of the road. On Wednesday, many people were injured due to a stampede situation on the Sangam Noj early in the early hours, who have been admitted to the hospital in the fair area. Mahant Ravindra Puri, president of the Akhara Parishad, said that due to the incident like a stampede due to overcrowding, the Akharas had postponed the Amrit bath in the morning, but the saints of the akhadas will take bath in the Akharas. Negotiations are going on with the fair administration in this regard.
