To get rid of this defect, work related to ancestors should be done on the day of Amavasya. In the scriptures, the importance of Amavasya, the last date of Krishna Paksha, is considered special for the works related to ancestors. When Shraddha of ancestors is performed in this Amavasya, this date is called Sarvapitri Amavasya. Shraddha of all the ancestors can be performed on this day. If the date of ancestors is not remembered, Shraddha and Tarpan can be performed on the day of Sarvapitri Amavasya. This Mokshadayini Amavasya is on October 2, 2024. It is believed that on the last day, Sarvapitri Amavasya, the ancestors return to their abode. The ancestors are happy to see the prosperity of the family. One should remain happy during Pitru Paksha and do charity. Make sure to feed the cow on the day of Sarvapitri Amavasya. Keep in mind that you have to feed only satvik food to the cow. According to religious beliefs, feeding a cow removes Pitra Dosh.
