Navratri ends with the worship of Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Maa Durga. Maa Siddhidatri is the last among the Nav Durgas. According to religious beliefs, Mother Siddhidatri fulfills all the wishes of the devotees and also grants them fame, strength and wealth. In the scriptures, Mother Siddhidatri is considered the goddess of accomplishment and salvation. Maa Siddhidatri has 8 Siddhis – Anima, Mahima, Prapti, Prakamya, Garima, Laghima, Ishitva and Vashitva. Mother Siddhidatri is seated on a lotus like Mahalakshmi. Mother has four hands. The mother is holding a conch, mace, lotus flower and disc in her hands. Mother Siddhidatri is also considered to be the form of Mother Saraswati. Maa Siddhidatri is capable of providing all these achievements to the devotees and seekers. According to Devipuran, Lord Shankar had achieved these achievements only by his grace. By his grace, half of Lord Shiva’s body became that of a goddess. For this reason he became famous among the people by the name Ardhanarishwar. Siddhidatri does not leave any wish within the devotee of Mother Goddess that he wants to fulfill.
Maa Siddhidatri worship method:
Wake up early in the morning, after taking bath etc., wear clean clothes.
Bathe the idol of Mother Goddess with Ganga water or pure water.
Offer white colored clothes to the mother. According to religious beliefs, mother likes white color.
After bathing the mother, offer white flowers.
Apply Roli Kumkum to mother.
Offer sweets, dry fruits and fruits to the mother.
Mata Siddhidatri should be offered Prasad, food containing Navarasa, nine types of flowers and only nine types of fruits.
Mother Siddhidatri is very fond of seasonal fruits, gram, puri, kheer, coconut and halwa. It is said that by offering these things to the mother, she becomes happy.
Meditate on Goddess Siddhidatri as much as possible.
Also perform Mother’s Aarti.
Kanya Puja also has special significance on the day of Navami. Also worship the girl on this day.
