Japanese automobile company Nissan has announced the closure of the Datsun brand in India. Nissan India said in a statement, “The production of Datsun redi-GO has ceased at the Chennai plant (Renno Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd). The sales will continue as long as the stock of this model remains. Please note that the company is slowing down its cars. In 2020, Russia and Indonesia, South Africa along with the other two countries have discontinued the brand for sales.
Services and Warranty will continue to be available
The company said that all our existing and new customers buying the car will be the first priority. Services will continue to be available at all our dealership networks across the country. We will also continue to provide warranty and free services on our cars. The company had already stopped production of two other models of the Datsun brand. At its entry level, there is the small car GO and the compact multi-purpose vehicle GO+.
