Some brands like Ola and Hero Electric have cornered the EV segment. Seeing the demand, many big two-wheeler manufacturers are making their entry in the EV segment. However, major brands like Honda, Hero MotoCorp, Yamaha, Suzuki and Royal Enfield are yet to enter this segment. Currently, Honda as one of the major players is in talks to make a grand entry into the EV market very soon.

The company can introduce its most popular and best selling petrol scooter Activa in an electric avatar. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet. Now let us understand it in detail.
Significantly, in this regard, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced that it will start its innings here in April 2023 with the electric scooter. However, it is not yet clear whether it will be Activa Electric or any other EV. More details will be revealed on March 29. It is worth noting that Honda already sells a range of electric two-wheelers in the international markets. Any one set of these products can be launched by the company in India. According to Honda President MD and CEO Atsushi Ogata, the company will have a large portfolio of EVs in India. Honda will have three categories of electric two-wheelers in India, depending mainly on their top speed.
