New Delhi. Seeing the success of electric scooters in India, Hero MotoCorp, one of the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturers, has also decided to foray into this segment. Revealing this, Hero MotoCorp informed that the company’s first electric scooter will be launched in March 2022. Hero MotoCorp Chairman Dr Pawan Munjal gave a glimpse of the company’s upcoming electric scooter in early August 2021. This electric scooter from Hero MotoCorp will compete with scooters like Ather 450X, Ola S1 and S1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
to be built in Chittoor
Hero MotoCorp said that their first electric scooter will be manufactured at the company’s plant in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The company said that the production of their electric scooter is in advanced stage.

eco-friendly
The company said that work is done in a completely eco-friendly manner at their plant in Chittoor. Hence the name of this plant is ‘Garden Factory’.

“Be the Future of Mobility”
The company also informed that in keeping with the vision of “Be the Future of Mobility”, it is working towards bringing sustainable mobility solutions to the customers. Based on this vision, the electric vehicle segment will be focused.

Giving further information, the company said that their first electric scooter has been designed and developed at the R&D Center or CIT (Centre of Innovation and Technology) in Jaipur.
