In fact, ‘Economy Meals’ stalls will be installed on the station platform itself in front of the general coach. You will get food in only 20 rupees and water will be available in only 3 rupees. Passengers traveling in general coach often have to wander at the station for food and drink. To overcome this problem of the people, Railways has started ‘Economy Meals’. There are two types of miles for food and drink from the railway side. According to the price fixed for the first meal, you will be given 7 pooris, 150 grams of vegetables and a packet of pickle for Rs 20. Whereas, for the second mile, you will have to pay Rs 50.
In this meal you will find items like Rajma Chawal, Khichdi, Chole Kulche, Chole Bhature, Pav Bhaji or Masala Dosa. You will get water for Rs 3 and these will be sealed glasses. This will also take care of hygiene. If seen in such a situation, this facility of railway will be very beneficial for those passengers who often travel by train.
