The demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly around the world. Now China’s leading automaker Genesis has made the global debut of its new electric SUV GV70. The new Genesis GV70 electric SUV has officially made a splash at the ongoing Auto Guangzhou 2021 Motor Show in China. The SUV comes across as a rival to cars like the BMW iX3, Jaguar I-Pace and Mercedes EQC.
It is based on the company’s current regular size GV70 SUV, inheriting its basic design and space, but it also gets many new advanced features as an electric SUV. It looks similar to its ICE-powered models, but gets a closed grille for better aerodynamics, which houses the charging port.
Power and performance:
The Genesis GV70 is an all wheel drive SUV and uses a dual motor system. Its motor generates power of 480hp and torque of 700Nm. The company claims that the pick-up of this SUV is also very good, this SUV can catch the speed of 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.2 seconds.
The SUV offers a driving range of up to 500 kms once fully charged and supports charging capacity of 350kW. The company claims that its battery gets charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. That is, in just 18 minutes, you get enough charged battery for better driving.
As we told you, it looks similar to its petrol model, it gets the same special grille design with split headlights. At the rear, it gets the same sloping roof line and LED rear lights. The cabin, on the other hand, is the same as the petrol model, except it gets a major change in the form of a three-spoke steering wheel. At present, the company has only showcased it, it can be launched for sale early next year.
