Every middle class man aspires to have a four wheeler so that he does not have to face all the difficulties in traveling on a two wheeler and now the report released by FADA has revealed that For some time, Indians have adopted four wheelers leaving two wheelers. The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations, the apex body of the automobile retail industry in India, has released the sales report for July, 2022. This report shows that the sales of two wheelers in the country are continuously decreasing. The sales of these vehicles have declined by 10.92 per cent in the last month itself. From which it is clear that Indian customers are getting less attracted towards bikes or scooters and more towards four wheelers, 3 wheelers.
Looking at the FADA report, a total of 10,09,574 units of two wheelers were sold last month, which was more than 11.33 lakh units in July, 2021. That is, the sales of two-wheelers decreased by 10.92 percent in a year. At the same time, a total of 8.87 lakh two wheelers were sold in July 2020. However, this was the period when the whole world was battling the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. Three years ago, in July 2019, the domestic sales figure of two-wheelers was close to 13.99 lakhs i.e. around 14 lakh units. That is, there has been a loss of 27.86 percent in this segment.
According to the FADA report, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle & Scooters, TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto are among the top two-wheeler sellers in July. Hero sold a total of 3.20 lakh two-wheelers last month, compared to 4.01 lakh during the same period last year. Honda has sold models to a total of 2.62 lakh customers. Honda had sold 2.77 lakh units in July 2021. Apart from this, TVS Motor sold 1.65 lakh two wheelers and Bajaj Auto 93,755 units. It is also worth noting that the sales of all these companies are less than last year.
