Many motors will be available in the new BMW 5 Series
Next-Gen BMW 5 series Spotted: The next-generation BMW 5 Series is seen during a test run in Munich, Germany. Many changes will be seen in the interior and exterior of the new BMW 5 Series. Additionally, it will also include new technologies and options for ICE or plug-in hybrid as well as the possibility of using an electric powertrain only.
The all-new BMW 5 Series will get a bigger kidney grille
From the spy images of the spy shots, it appears that BMW will discontinue its tradition of introducing a large kidney grille in the new 5 Series. Unlike the 7 Series and the upcoming XM SUV, the 5 Series is the first to be released. A more reserved design will be seen in the 5 Series. However, it is believed that the 5 Series will get a more aggressive design. The 5 Series will get a sleeker front and sportier rear end than the current model.
No images of the interior have been released, however, there is a chance that the cabin could be a direct influence from the brand new 7 Series. The car is expected to feature a new dashboard and a curved dual-screen layout that incorporates information technology running BMW’s all-new iDrive 8 operating system.

In terms of ICE powertrain, this new model is likely to be powered by the existing 6- and 4-cylinder diesel and petrol engines only. A plug-in hybrid model is expected to have electrified 6 and 4 engines. The all-new 5 Series will have a fully electric model called the i5 which is likely to come with one or two motor configurations.
