British car manufacturer MG (MG) has set a milestone of selling 1 lakh vehicles in India. It took the company 3 years to reach this point. The company entered the Indian market in 2019 with the Hector. After the success of Hector, the company continuously expanded its portfolio. Apart from Hector, in India, the company is selling the ZS EV, premium SUV Gloster and compact SUV Aster.

Presently, the company has a plant at Halol, Gujarat with an annual production capacity of 80,000 wheelers. About 2,500 employees work here.
MG Hector: The company’s car also gets keyless entry, push button start, electric parking brake with auto hold, telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel and chrome finished door handles. Apart from the sunroof, all these features are available only in the petrol-CVT variant of the Shine trim. In this, the company has used 17 inch alloy wheels, while 18 inch wheels have been given in the top model. The company has introduced this new variant in Havana Gray color. It can be bought in both petrol and diesel options. In its petrol version, the company has used a 1.5 liter turbo petrol engine which generates power of 143hp. On the other hand, the diesel version has a 2.0-liter engine that generates power of 170hp. Both these engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox.

MG Astor: This is the petrol version of the company’s own electric SUV ZS. MG Astor is offered by the company with 1.5 liter naturally aspirated engine (110hp) and 1.3 liter turbo petrol engine (140hp power). Its 1.3 liter engine comes with 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Whereas the 1.5 liter engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and 8-step CVT automatic transmission gearbox. In this special technology used in MG Astor, a multi-purpose camera has been used, which will give different features while driving. These include features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Drive Assist (RDA), Lane Departure Prevention, Intelligent Headlamp Control (IHC) and Speed Assist System.

MG Gloster: Two diesel engines have been given in MG Gloster. It gets 2.0-litre turbo diesel and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engines. The first engine generates 163 PS of power and 375 Nm of peak torque, while the second engine generates 218 PS of power and 480 Nm of peak torque. There is an option of 8-speed automatic transmission with them. While the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine is offered with a rear-wheel-drive setup, the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel motor gets four-wheel drive. The full-size SUV gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and connected car features. It also gets features like a large panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, level-1 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). For safety, it has been provided with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Park Assist, Auto Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist.
MG ZS EV: The bigger 50.3kWH battery has already been given in this electric car. Earlier it used to get 44.7kWh battery unit. The new battery delivers 143bhp of power and 353Nm of torque. It claims to achieve 0-100 kmph in just 8.5 seconds. The new ZS Electric is claimed to offer a range of 461km on a single charge. The old model claimed to deliver 419km on a full charge. The new ZS EV 2022 is equipped with a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, Android and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Apart from the rear passengers, the ZS EV also gets rear air conditioning vents for comfort. MG Motor introduced the ZS EV in 2020.
