Honda is working on the new generation CR-V. The testing of this SUV has reached the last stage. This vehicle has been discontinued in the global market including India. The old model was offered worldwide in five and seven seater options.
When launched at the time, it was one of the first premium SUVs to come in a five-seat configuration. The CR-V along with the Civic and Accord was discontinued in the Indian market after the Japanese auto giant closed its Noida-based factory.
The leaked online photos of the new generation Honda CR-V reveal that it is a premium SUV. The design of the 2023 Honda CRV resembles that of the new generation Honda Breeze sold in China.
The new CR-V will be offered with a 1.5-litre VTEC turbo engine that produces 193PS and 243Nm of torque. The SUV will also get two hybrid powertrains. It is likely to get a 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle engine coupled with two electric motors. It could also be offered with a plug-in hybrid version.
