Royal Enfield is expected to launch the street-friendly version of the Meteor 350 in India very soon. It is expected that the name of the new bike will be Meteor 350X and it will give a sportier feel to the riders. If motorcycle enthusiasts remember correctly, Royal Enfield sold the street-friendly version of the Thunderbird 350 as the Thunderbird 350X. The Thunderbird 350X was equipped with the same engine as the Thunderbird 350, but with design changes to give a sportier feel to the riders.
The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350X is expected to feature a toned-down version of the regular Meteor that will be more street-oriented. The handlebars of the Meteor 350X will be flat and enable the rider to lean forward slightly. The flat handlebars will enable better commuting in urban areas. The seats on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X are also expected to get a refreshed look to match the design of the bike. There are high chances that the upcoming bike will have the same single seat as the 350X.
When it comes to tyres, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X will have a smaller front tire as compared to the Meteor 350. The Meteor 350 comes with a 19-inch front wheel while the Meteor 350X is expected to sport an 18-inch front wheel. However, the rear wheel is expected to be similar to that of the Meteor (18 inches). The color options of the Meteor 350X are expected to be in bright colours.
The heart of the Meteor 350X is expected to be the same engine as the Meteor. The motorcycle is expected to offer a 349cc single-cylinder unit that produces 20.2bhp @ 6100 rpm of peak power. The torque of the engine is 27Nm @4000 rpm. The 349cc engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. We expect the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X to offer the same fuel efficiency as the Meteor 350. When it comes to brakes, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350X is expected to get dual-channel ABS as standard.
When it comes to the price of Royal Enfield Meteor 350X, it is expected to be costlier (around Rs 8k-Rs 10k) than the base Meteor Fireball variant. We expect Royal Enfield to officially tease about the upcoming bike and we are keeping our fingers crossed about its launch.
