Tata Motors has finally launched the Nexon EV Max SUV, with prices starting from Rs 17.74 lakh to Rs 19.24 lakh. The Nexon EV Max is claimed to offer an ARAI-certified range of 437km. It comes with a large 40.5kWh battery pack. The new SUV also gets new additional features as compared to the standard Nexon EV. The deliveries of the Nexon EV Max will begin in the coming weeks.
The Nexon EV Max has been introduced in two variants – the basic XZ + and the top-end variant XZ + Lux.
Tata Nexon EV Max Price
Tata Motors has launched the Nexon EV Max in two variants with four sub-variants. The price of Tata Nexon EV Max is Rs 2.95 lakh more than the standard Nexon EV. The basic Nexon EV Max XZ+ variant with 3.3kW charger is priced at Rs 17.74 lakh while the XZ+ with 7.2kW AC fast charger is priced at Rs 18.24 lakh.
On the other hand, the price of the top-spec Tata Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux model starts at Rs 18.74 lakh for the 3.3kW option. The XZ+ with 7.2kW AC fast charger is the most expensive variant in the Lux line-up and is priced at Rs 19.24 lakh.
Features of Tata Nexon EV Max
As we said earlier, the Nexon EV Max gets several new features as compared to the standard Nexon EV, including an illuminated gear knob with park mode, electronic parking brake, air purifier, cooled seats and ESP and hill-hold assist. Security features included. Apart from this, smartwatch integration and cruise control are also available in it. The company is offering a beige interior theme with all the variants of the EV except the standard model. The Nexon EV Max gets a dual-tone exterior color scheme and comes in an exclusive intensity-teal paint shade option.
The Tata Nexon EV Max is powered by the upgraded ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology and features a multi-mode region with four region levels for braking, providing the highest region level assist in single-pedal driving.
Apart from this, the Nexon EV Max gets an 8 year/1,60,000 km warranty for the battery and motor.
Tata Nexon EV Max Battery & Range
The Nexon EV Max packs a massive 40.5kWh battery. This battery is about 10kWh larger than the standard Nexon EV. The boot capacity of the Nexon EV Max is a 350-litre boot, which is the same as the regular Nexon EV. The electric car comes with a 143hp motor that makes 250Nm of torque.
The ARAI claimed range of the Nexon EV Max is 437 km, which is 125 km more than the Nexon EV and a real-world range of around 300 km.
The Nexon EV Max weighs 70 kg heavier than the standard Nexon EV. Tata Motors has tuned the springs and dampers to take care of the extra weight along with modifying the floor structure to accommodate the larger battery.
According to the carmaker, the new EV can achieve 0-100kph in less than 9 seconds for an electric SUV.
The Tata Motors Nexon EV Max takes around 15-16 hours to fully charge with the 3.3kW AC charger, while the 7.2kW AC version can fully charge the battery in five to six hours. Tata Motors claims a charging time of 56 minutes from 0-80 percent via a conventional 50kW DC fast charger. The 7.2kW AC charger can also be used to charge the regular Nexon EV, but will only go up to 3.3kW, as that’s the standard model’s maximum intake capacity.
Tata Nexon EV Max Rivals
Though there is no direct rival to the Nexon EV Max, it will compete with the MG ZS EV, which starts at Rs 21.99 lakh and gets a more powerful 176hp motor and 50.3kWh battery. The Nexon EV Max will be sold alongside the Nexon EV, giving users more options to choose from.
