Since its inception in India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has achieved a great milestone by selling 2 million vehicles. After commencing production in the country in December 1999, the company has achieved this feat by handing over a new Glanza hatchback to its dealership Nippon Toyota in Thrissur, Kerala in April 2022.
Atul Sood, TKM Associate Vice President, Sales & Strategic Marketing, said that over the last 20 years, Toyota has carved a niche in the hearts of customers through Quality, Durability and Trust (QDR). We are hopeful that we will achieve our goals in 2022 and beyond. Our ultimate goal is to give ‘Happiness to all’.
TKM said that over the years, the company has continued to grow its product lineup by offering a wide range of options to meet the needs of the Indian customers. Apart from its popular MPV Innova Crysta and SUV Fortuner, the company has also introduced new versions of compact SUV Urban Cruiser and premium hatchback Glanza, Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Brezza and Baleno.
While the company Innova Crysta and Fortuner have been very successful vehicles for the company. However, the Etios and the hatchback Etios Liva did not garner much popularity. However, the self-charging vehicles Camry Hybrid and Vellfire have carved a niche for themselves.
The company said that the Camry Hybrid is the first locally manufactured self-charging hybrid electric vehicle in India. We aim to grow further with a special focus on Tier II and III markets, he added.
