Maruti Suzuki is going aggressive with new vehicles for the Indian market. The company has already launched the new Baleno, Ertiga facelift and the new XL6 in the country. Now the company is preparing 3 more vehicles, which are going to be launched before the end of 2022.
Maruti Suzuki will launch the new Brezza in the next few months. The company has started the trial production of the new compact SUV codenamed YFG. The company can launch this new model till the festive season to compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Along with this, Maruti is also testing the next generation Maruti Alto, which is expected to be launched by the end of 2022.
The next generation Maruti Alto will be based on the new modular HEARTECT platform that is based on the new Wagon R, S-Presso and the new Celerio hatchback. The third generation Alto would have grown in size because of the new platform. As per the spy image, the new Alto will be longer and wider, and is likely to have a longer wheelbase than the current car. In addition, the new Alto will be lighter and more fuel efficient than the current model.
The new generation Maruti Alto is expected to get the new K10C DualJet 1.0L 3-cylinder petrol engine with start/stop system. This engine can generate power of 67bhp and torque of 89Nm. It will also come with a 796cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 47bhp and 69Nm of torque. The new Alto is expected to get both manual and AMT gearboxes. The hatchback is also likely to come with a CNG version.
