New Delhi. Big news has come for the central employees. It is going to give a relief to lakhs of central government employees and pensioners from rising inflation. Under this, the Modi government at the Center is once again going to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for central employees and pensioners in the month of July. According to the information received, this DA can be increased up to 3 percent. More than 1 crore people will be direct beneficiaries of this decision taken by the government. According to media reports, after seeing a decline in the AICPI Index for 2 consecutive months, this index again saw a rise in March. This index had come down to 125.1 in January. After this, it was reduced to only 125 points in the month of February.
However, in the month of March, it suddenly increased by 1 point to 126. This is the reason why it is being speculated that the government may once again take a decision to increase the dearness allowance. To give relief from inflation to government employees and pensioners, a DA component has been added to their salary or pension. Let us tell you, according to the 7th Finance Commission, DA is increased twice a year. The first growth is done in January and the second in July. The government makes this decision on the basis of the rate of inflation. With the rise of the AICPI index in March, people are speculating that the dearness allowance may be increased by 3 percent again in July.
It is worth noting that the government has already increased the dearness allowance by 3 percent once this year. At present, dearness allowance at the rate of 34 percent is being given to central employees and pensioners. If this allowance is increased in the month of July, then this DA can increase to 37 percent. However, the government will take this decision accordingly after looking at the AICPI index in April, May and June. Let us tell you, due to Corona epidemic in the middle, the process of amendment in DA was blocked.
After a gap of about one and a half years, the central government had increased the DA from 17 percent to 28 percent in the month of July last year. After this, in October 2021, the DA of central employees was increased from 28 percent to 31 percent. And this year it was increased by 3 per cent, which has now gone up to 34 per cent.
