The business war between Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and Reliance Industries’ Mukesh Ambani is not taking its name to end. There was a competition between Amazon and Reliance to become the king in India’s retail business. Now there is a possibility of a clash between the two in the cricket field as well. This clash is going to happen to get the broadcast rights of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL.
Actually, both the companies are in race for the media rights of IPL season 2023-2027. Amazon wants to expand its Prime service regarding media rights. At the same time, Reliance Jio wants to take TV to new heights of success. Indeed, for the first time, the rights to broadcast matches on television and stream them online will be sold separately. Who wins in this auction process, it will be known in the month of June. Let us tell you that the e-auction will start from June 12.
Strong Competition Expected: Disney Plus Hostar is the only live streaming platform of IPL in India. With the inclusion of the Gujarat and Lucknow franchises, the number of IPL matches has increased from 60 to 74. Due to which there is likely to be strong bidding competition in the auction as the segment now also includes Zee-Sony. There are likely to be stakes of $7 billion or more in this auction.

Amazon’s hurdle in retail: Reliance had placed a bet of about Rs 25 thousand crore for the business acquisition of retail sector giant Future Group. But this deal could not be completed due to the hurdles of e-commerce company Amazon. Currently, Amazon is fighting a legal battle in different courts regarding this deal.
Who is ahead in wealth: If we talk about wealth, then Amazon’s Jeff Bezos is far ahead than Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Jeff Bezos is worth $173 billion. At the same time, the total wealth of Mukesh Ambani is $ 103 billion. In the ranking, Jeff Bezos is at second place while Mukesh Ambani is at ninth place.
