Veteran telecom company Airtel has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2007.8 crore in the January-March 2022 quarter. There has been a jump of 164.46 per cent in the net profit of the company as compared to a year ago. The company had a profit of Rs 759.2 crore in the March quarter of last year. Shares of Airtel closed at Rs 706 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), with a gain of nearly 2 per cent on Tuesday.
Preparation to pay dividend of Rs 3 on every share
The board of Bharti Airtel has recommended a dividend of Rs 3 per share on fully paid-up equity shares and Rs 0.75 per share on partially paid-up shares for the financial year 2021-22. The telecom company has said that the company’s consolidated EBITDA stood at Rs 15,998 crore in the March 2022 quarter. The EBITDA margin for the quarter stood at 50.8%, a year-on-year improvement of 192 basis points. The company’s revenue has jumped 22.3 percent in the March 2022 quarter. The company’s consolidated revenue from operations stood at Rs 31,500 crore in the January-March 2022 quarter, as against Rs 25,747 crore in the same period last year.

Earning from one user increased to Rs 178
Bharti Airtel has reported that its average revenue per user (earnings from a user or ARPU) increased to Rs 178 in the March 2022 quarter from Rs 145 in the fourth quarter of FY21. At the same time, it was Rs 163 in the third quarter of FY 2021. Airtel has reported that its mobile data consumption has grown by 28.7 per cent year-on-year. The per user consumption in the month has been 18.8GB of data. Bharti Airtel shares have given investors around 35 per cent returns in the last one year. At the same time, the shares of the company have given returns of more than 3500 percent to the investors since inception.
