New Delhi. In today’s time everyone has their own personal vehicle. Not only for long distance travel, but now people have to go for some work even at a short distance from home, so they leave with their car. Due to the use of vehicles many times daily, people start being negligent while driving them. Many times it is seen that bike riders are driving without helmets, while car riders are driving without wearing seat belts. By doing this, they not only put their own lives but also the lives of others in trouble.
In the past, when businessman and former chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry, died in a road accident, after that there was a lot of discussion about installing seat belts on the rear seat of the car. It was being said that as he was sitting on the back seat, he did not pay attention to the seat belt, due to which he lost his life. It was only after this incident that seat belts were made mandatory on the back seat as well. Now this rule has been implemented for car drivers in Mumbai.
This rule is going to be implemented in Mumbai on the 10th of this month. Giving this information, Mumbai Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Raj Tilak Roshan said that people are being made aware through social media and radio to follow this rule. Its importance is being explained to the people.
Invoice will be deducted on violation
After this rule comes into force in Mumbai from November 10, everyone will have to wear rear seat belts. If found not doing so, a fine of Rs 200 will also have to be paid. Apart from this, the Mumbai Police had also intensified the campaign regarding rear helmets on two wheelers. Seeing the increase in the number of people who do not wear rear helmet and increasing accidents, the police is preparing to take action on this soon.
