The employees working in Facebook of the meta firm have got a setback. Facebook’s parent company Meta told employees on Friday that it was ending free services such as laundry and dry cleaning. Also she is cutting down on dinner time for free meals from 6 pm onwards. According to seven employees of the company, this shift will be from 6:30 pm.
The new dinner time is an inconvenience because the company’s last shuttles that pick up employees from their homes usually leave the office at 6 p.m. This keeps the stock of huge boxes of food for the workers. But due to the delay of half an hour, it will have an effect.
This decision has come as META is ending the work from home of the employees and many employees are going to return to the company’s offices on March 28. However, for some, work from home is still allowed.
The change could be a warning to employees at other companies, who are preparing to return to the office after two years of the coronavirus pandemic. Google, Meta and others have offered on-site amenities such as medical care, sushi buffets, candy stores, and beanbag chairs to lure and retain top talent.
The on-site services and facilities have been adjusted to better reflect the needs of the hybrid work force, a statement from a META spokesperson said. However, questions have also been raised on behalf of many employees. On which the company has clarified that it is a decision taken in the interest of the employees. It will not cause any harm.
