According to media reports, a show cause notice has been issued to Gamescraft Technology for not paying GST of Rs 21 thousand crore. The company has been accused of not giving invoices to its customers. The tax authorities have sent a notice to the firm with 28 per cent tax on the betting amount to the tune of around Rs 77,000 crore. Now in such a situation, it has to be seen that after this action of GST, what is the reaction from the company. At the same time, giving detailed information in this context, the tax authorities said that “GTPL was engaged in betting by allowing its players/gamers to place bets on the outcome of card games played online in the form of money bets”.
It may be noted that the show cause notices have reportedly been issued for the period between the year 2017 and June 30, 2022.
