New Delhi. The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) server suddenly stalled on Sunday night. Due to this there was an outcry among the users doing online transactions. All types of online payment stopped. Server was down for more than an hour. According to people, online payment also got stalled through Google Pay, Paytm, Phone Pay etc. There is no statement from the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) about the server failure so far. Earlier this year on January 9, UPI’s server went down.
Transactions through UPI are increasing tremendously. In March this year itself, 540 crore transactions were done through UPI. Out of these, transactions of about Rs 10 lakh crore took place. In December 2021, UPI had done 456 crore transactions. This resulted in transactions worth 8.26 lakh crores. Transactions worth Rs 73 lakh crore were registered through UPI from January 2021 to December 2021. Compared to 2020, there has been an increase of 110% every year through UPI.
The special thing is that only yesterday in his monthly program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, PM Narendra Modi had talked about payment through UPI and suggested people to bring more inclination towards it. It was the Modi government that started payment through UPI. Earlier, people used to pay through cash and debit and credit cards. During the Corona period, there was a significant increase in payment through UPI. Since then it has been increasing continuously.
It seems upi payment is not running properly.@UPI_NPCI@PhonePe@PhonePeSupport

Hello Shanawaz! It looks like an issue with the UPI servers of the bank, which could be temporary. Please wait for some time and try again. SD
