Business News Desk – A Russian court has imposed a fine of two decimal rubles i.e. about 2.5 decimal dollars on the American company Google. The American company had refused to restore 17 government-backed TV channels in Russia on YouTube. For this reason this fine has been imposed on Google. According to the World Bank, the total GDP of the world is 100 trillion dollars. There are 36 zeros after one in decimal. It is not possible for Google’s parent company Alphabet to pay such a huge amount.
Last year the company’s total revenue was $307 billion. The market cap of the company is $2.096 trillion. Google-owned YouTube banned Russian nationalist channel Tsargrad four years ago. America had imposed sanctions on the owner of this company and along with this, a fine of 2.5 trillion dollars has been imposed on the company. The company has been given nine months time to repay it.

The court also said that if the company does not pay the fine during nine months, then the amount of the fine will double every day. The court said that if the company pays this fine then it can enter the Russian market again. When Russia attacked Ukraine in 2022, Google banned Russian channels. According to a report, Google had banned more than 1,000 Russian YouTube channels. The company said it did this because of its policy regarding the war.
