After four months, there is a rise in the prices of petroleum products again. In a single stroke, per gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 50. Along with this, the prices of petrol and diesel are also increasing after 137 days. The government has increased the purchase price of diesel by Rs 25 per liter in bulk.
Petrol Diesel Price Today: After relief, disaster again, petrol 114.75 and diesel Rs 97.73 a liter
On the other hand, CNG prices have also increased by Rs 16.01 per kg since June last year. It is clear that freight is going to be expensive. Transporters have already indicated this. Transport within the city limits in Delhi is carried by light vehicles, which run on about 95 per cent CNG, while goods from other states are driven by heavy trucks, which run on diesel. Therefore, transport at both the levels is going to be expensive.
Transporter cost will increase by half a penny
Jaiprakash Singhal, CEO of All India Transporters Welfare Association, says that the transporters were not increasing the freight till now, but if the prices increase then obviously a decision will have to be taken. If diesel increases by Re 1 per litre, then our expenditure also increases by half (.50 paise) per cent, as the fuel expenditure in the form of transport is 60 per cent of the total expenditure.
Diesel prices will increase, freight will also increase
Therefore, in proportion to the increase in diesel prices, freight will also increase. Local transportation of CNG has also become expensive. Now the effect of all this will be seen on the prices of all the commodities. Because Delhi is not a producing state. Almost 100% of the goods come from outside, so the prices of most of the products will go up. Along with this, the effect will be seen on the prices of those products, which are prepared from raw materials in Delhi and supplied for sale to other states.
Hemant Gupta, General Secretary of the Board of Trade of Indian Industry, says that the prices of pulses, sugar to edible oil were showing a softening for the last two weeks. Now due to increase in diesel prices, transport will be expensive, which will affect the prices. CNG prices have already gone up by Rs 16 per kg in less than a year, making transportation costlier locally. Freight will increase as diesel becomes costlier.
‘Forcibly the rent will have to be increased’
Ramchandra, president of School Transport Ekta Union, says that two years ago the price of CNG was Rs 38. It is now around Rs 59. Parents are once again asking us to send their children to school. The parents are demanding reduction in the cab fare but the price of CNG has increased. Car maintenance has also become expensive. The demand for abolishing the fitness penalty was also not accepted by the government, so it is a compulsion to increase the rent.
No hike in rent
Ghaziabad. The hike in the price of CNG gas and petrol, diesel has not affected the fares of the transport modes so far. Cab drivers said that no decision on fare hike has been taken yet. The booking amount is decided by the company itself. On the other hand, Ajay Pathak, president of the Metropolitan Transport Goods Association, said that since two days, the prices of petroleum products have been increased. One rupee has also been increased on gas, but there is no decision to increase the transport fare yet.
