Prices will increase from April 1
The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority of India (NPPA) on Friday announced a 10.7 per cent change in the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for the calendar year 2021 as compared to the corresponding period of 2020. This means that the prices of nearly 800 medicines on the list of essential medicines used to treat most common ailments may increase by 10.7 per cent from April 1.

Prices of these medicines will increase
Now the prices of medicines used in the treatment of fever, infection, heart disease, high blood pressure, skin diseases and anemia will increase. This includes drugs like paracetamol, phenobarbitone, phenytoin sodium, azithromycin, ciprofloxacin hydrochloride and metronidazole.
