Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Bhagwant Khuba has emphasized the need for energy transformation in view of the increasing demand for electricity. Khuba on Tuesday said that this will ultimately help in creating 32 lakh jobs by 2050. Khuba said at an event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to give information about the third edition of the Hybrid Conference and Digital Exhibition to be organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on the theme ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat – Making India a Manufacturing Hub of Renewable Energy’. Energy transition is an important step to meet the growing demand. This can help in job creation in the economy. Ultimately this can provide employment to 32 lakh people by 2050.

He said the energy transition would reduce dependence on imported fuels. This will improve the balance of trade and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The Minister said that the demand for energy in the country is increasing due to economic growth, increasing prosperity, increasing rate of urbanization and increasing per capita energy consumption. Khuba said, “The global economy is recovering after the pandemic. I call upon all of you to seize this opportunity and redefine the global supply chain to make India a net energy exporter.
Speaking at the event, Andre Aranha Corio do Logo, Ambassador of Brazil to India, said that we see India as a potential manufacturing export partner of solar panels. He said Brazil intends to install 52,000 MW of solar. He said that India can take advantage of Brazil’s experience with ethanol fuel and boost its industry.
