At the beginning of the month, the list of bank holidays has also been released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). According to this list, banks will remain closed for a total of 21 days in this month of October. 1 October- Half Yearly Closing (Banks will remain closed in Sikkim)
October 2nd- Gandhi Jayanti
October 3- Durga Puja (Banks will remain closed in Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Bihar and Manipur for Maha Ashtami)
4 October- Bank employees in Karnataka, Orissa, Sikkim, Kerala, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Bihar and Meghalaya will be on holiday due to Durga Puja (Dussehra) / birth anniversary of Sankardev.
5 October- Banks across the country will remain closed except in Manipur due to Durga Puja (Dashmi)/Shankar Dev Janmotsav.
October 6- Banks will remain closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja.
7 October- Banks will remain closed in Gangtok due to Durga Puja.
13 October- Banks will remain closed on account of Karva Chauth.
October 14- Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
18 October- Banks will remain closed in Guwahati on account of Kati Bihu.
October 24- Banks will remain closed in other cities of the country except Hyderabad, Imphal and Gangtok on account of Kali Puja/ Narak Chaturdashi/ Diwali/ Lakshmi Puja.
October 25- Banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal and Jaipur due to Lakshmi Puja/Diwali/Govardhan Puja.
26 October- Banks will remain closed in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Belapur, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shillong and Shimla due to festivals like Bhai Dooj.
27 October- Banks in Lucknow, Kanpur, Imphal and Gangtok will remain closed due to festivals like Bhai Dooj/Chitragupta.
28 October- Banks in Ahmedabad, Patna and Ranchi will remain closed on account of Dala Chhath/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti.
