In such a situation, whoever avails the facility of free ration from the government, they must know this news.
Government preparing to give rice instead of wheat
Along with wheat, rice is also being given to the ration card holders in the states by the Modi government of the Center. This distribution is done under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. Now under this scheme people will be given rice instead of wheat. After the implementation of the new rule, from June, you will get less wheat and more rice.
Wheat will not be available in these three states
Under the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the quota of wheat to be allocated from May to September has been reduced by the Modi government. After this change of government, wheat will not be given for free distribution in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Kerala. At the same time, the quota of wheat has been reduced in the capital Delhi, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. Card holders of these states will be given less wheat and more rice. However, no changes have been made in the rest of the states.
Reason for less purchase of wheat?
In states like UP-Bihar, the reason for ending the allocation of wheat for the time being is believed to be less procurement of wheat. Giving information about this, Food Secretary Sudhanshu Pandey said that an additional allocation of about 55 lakh metric tonnes of rice would be made during this period. This change in ration distribution is only for PMGKAY. The effect of this will be that in some states, rice will be given more than wheat.
