Officer assaulted four ground staff
According to the news, however, SpiceJet has not yet made any official statement on the matter. Let me tell you, SpiceJet had told on 3 August that before riding in a flight going to Delhi at Srinagar Airport, this senior officer assaulted four ground staff of the airline, in which an employee had a spinal fracture. The incident occurred when the officer was asked to pay a fee for additional cabin baggage.
Case registered under section 115
In this case, the local police have registered a case under Section 115 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which is a crime related to deliberately hurting a person. Apart from this, the said officer has also lodged a police complaint alleging assault against the airline employee, after which the police have also lodged an FIR against the airline employee.
SpiceJet started paperless boarding system
SpiceJet on Tuesday announced the implementation of paperless boarding process at Shillong Airport in Meghalaya. Under this new feature, passengers check-in at the airport counter will now get a boarding pass through WhatsApp, which will eliminate the requirement of physical printout. SpiceJet said the process would be operated through the airline’s indigenously developed web departure control system.
It is a browser-based platform that allows check-in employees to issue digital boarding passes via WhatsApp or email using a tablet or standard airport computer. Also, baggage tags will be sent via SMS. SpiceJet is the first airline to start a WhatsApp based boarding pass at check-in counters of the airport.
