Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has received an order from the Rajasthan government for the implementation of a parallel carrier system along the Rajiv Gandhi Canal. L&T said on Friday that the cost of the order could be in the range of Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore, depending on the project classification. Today L&T shares closed at Rs 1,534.50, up 0.67%.
Know what is the plan?
According to the company, apart from meeting the water demand of Jodhpur, Pali and Barmer districts of Rajasthan, the project will also supply water to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the Rajasthan State Industrial Development Investment Corporation Limited (RIICO).

What did the company say?
“The water and waste treatment business of L&T Construction has received a construction order from the Department of Public Health Engineering, Rajasthan to build a parallel carrier system for the Rajiv Gandhi Canal Project,” the company said in a statement.
