People living near toll plazas on National Highway and Express Highway have to face a lot of trouble. Because whenever these people cross toll on the highway, they are asked for toll tax. But soon these people’s troubles are going to end. Because Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, while addressing the Rajya Sabha on 22 March, said that the government will provide passes to those who live near toll plazas.
Who will get permanent pass – According to the statement of Nitin Gadkari, only those people living near toll plazas will be given permanent passes. Those who will have Aadhar card. If you also live near toll plaza and you do not have aadhar, then you should get aadhar card soon to get permanent pass.
There will be a toll plaza within a radius of 60 km. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in his address in Rajya Sabha said that out of the National Highways and Expressways having more than one toll plaza within a radius of 60 km, only one toll plaza will remain in the coming days. He said that the government is going to set up a toll plaza on highways and expressways within a radius of 60 km across the country within three months.
The price of EV will be equal to that of a petrol vehicle – Gadkari said that the technology of electric vehicles is developing rapidly in India. In such a situation, in the coming two years, the cost of vehicles running on green energy will be equal to that of vehicles running on petrol.
Earlier, Gadkari had addressed the annual session of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and FY21 AGM in November, where he said that within two years, the cost of EVs would come down to a level that would be at par with their petrol variants. He then said that the government is working to expand EV charging facilities.
