On Saturday, the executive council of the university approved the merger (merger) of 7 new educational centers set up in Aryabhatta Gyan Vishwavidyalaya campus in AKU. After this process, from the financial 2022-23, the budget of these seven centers will not be allocated separately but will now be included in the budget of the university. So far, the budget has been allocated separately for these educational centers.
The cabinet has already approved the merger of these seven centers in the Aryabhatta Knowledge University (Amendment) Bill 2021. Registrar of the University Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Director of Higher Education Dr. Rekha Kumari and other members participated in the meeting of the University Council held on Saturday. These seven academic centers include School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Patilputra School of Economics, Center for River Studies, Center for Geographical Studies, Center for Astronomy, Center for Stem Cell Technology and Center for Philosophy. Now a total of 12 centers will be operated by the university. The process of making four more new centers functional is in progress. Registrar Rakesh Kumar Singh said that the report sent to the government regarding the creation of posts in these educational centers was also discussed and the permission of the members was taken on it.
