7th Pay Commission: The Odisha government has decided to pay 20 percent of the 7th Pay Commission dues to its employees. According to the notification issued by the state government, a budget allocation of Rs 850 crore has been made for this in the supplementary budget of the financial year 2021-22. Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office said that the employees will get their dues along with their current month’s salary. It is noteworthy that the state government employees have already received 80 percent of the 7th Pay Commission dues.
This decision of the government will benefit about four lakh employees of the state. The recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission were immediately accepted by the state government and implemented in January 2016. According to the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, the employees started getting the increased salary from September 2017. According to the decision of the government, 20 percent of the salary arrears were to be given to the employees from January 2016 to August 2017, 10 percent from 2019 to 2020 and the remaining 30 percent from 2021 to 2022.
