The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board has excluded all the 78 candidates arrested for malpractices in the Sub Inspector recruitment examination from the selection process. The police captains and police commissioners of the districts concerned with these accused have been directed to take strict action against all the co-accused after seriously considering the cases. In these, apart from the operators of the tainted examination centers, the role of the staff doing duty there and the policemen deployed in security will also be investigated.
This action has been started after discrepancies came to the fore in the online written examination conducted in the year 2021 for direct recruitment to 9534 posts of Sub Inspector Civil Police, Platoon Commander PAC and Fire II Officer. On the instructions of the Board, FIR has been lodged against the operators-managers of the examination centers in Thana Mahanagar Lucknow, Police Station Civil Lines Meerut, Thana Cantt Commissionerate Varanasi, Thana Cantt Gorakhpur, Thana Kotwali Bareilly and Thana Kotwali Kanpur Commissionerate. Instructions have also been given to impose Gangster Act against these operators. The police will also investigate the role of the staff doing duty at these centres.
