New Delhi. The Supreme Court in an interim order on Friday approved the introduction of counseling for admission to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Post-Graduate (NEET-PG) courses for the year 2021-22 and 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) students. and upheld the validity of ten percent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna said the counseling for NEET PG for the year 2021-22 would be on the basis of the earlier norms. The bench said a decision on the validity of the eight lakh income criterion for EWS in the coming years would be taken only after hearing the petitions. The bench has fixed March 5 for hearing the petitions.
