Now on Wednesday, the Ministry of Education has released a report saying that due to the pandemic, there has been a decline in the enrollment of about 29 lakh students in pre-primary level in 2020-21 and 18 lakh in class one in comparison to 2019-20.
According to the report, the total enrollment of children with special needs in 2020-21 is 21.69 lakh, which shows a decrease of 3.56 percent as compared to 22.49 lakh in 2019-20. However, the total students enrolled in schooling from primary to higher secondary in 2020-21 saw an increase of 28.32 lakh from 2019-20.
