In view of the increasing heat in Delhi, the Delhi Parents Association has demanded to declare summer holidays in schools. A letter has been written to the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister of Delhi in this regard. Delhi Parents Association President Aparajita Gautam said that summer holidays in schools should be declared without delay. Children are falling ill due to extreme heat.
The attendance of children in schools is decreasing. The temperature reached the highest level in many areas of Delhi on Sunday. The Union Education Ministry had issued some safety rules and suggestions to prevent the heat, in which it is not safe for children to go out between 12 noon and three. He said that the neighboring states have changed the school timings, but no such step has been taken in Delhi.
Mission Buniyaad running in government schools
Under the second phase of Mission Buniyaad, summer camps have started in government schools. Students of both the shifts of classes III to IX are being called from 7.30 am to 11 am. The camp will continue till June 15. There has been a holiday from nursery to class II, while some private schools have declared a holiday for the students of the lower class, but the classes of the students of the upper class are continuing.
