State’s Technical Education Minister Ashish Patel said that a proposal is being prepared to provide education to the girl students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in all three technical universities and all government engineering colleges of the state at just one rupee. All the universities and colleges will bear the expenditure on this scheme from their own personal sources. He also directed to form a new committee by suspending the ongoing recruitment process in all the state engineering colleges.
He was holding a departmental review meeting in his office room on Friday. He said that empowerment of women is necessary to realize the dream of self-reliant India. Keeping this in mind, this proposal is being made to provide quality education to the girl students of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes at Re. It will be launched on the ground soon.
Pharmaceutical research center will be set up
The minister said in the meeting that within three months, an international level pharmaceutical and bioengineering research center should be established in the state. Quality education will be provided to stop the migration of students of the state to other states. Emphasizing on raising the quality standards, he said that achieving NBA and NAAC grades needs special attention. He also directed for the ranking of engineering colleges. For this the Vice-Chancellor and the Director will be made accountable.

Committee constituted for biometric attendance
The Minister directed to make arrangements for biometric attendance of teachers in all technical institutions. For this, he asked to constitute a committee of vice-chancellors and a director of all the three technical universities of the state. Along with this, he directed to make the selection process transparent and rule-compliant and to prepare an action plan for the next five years. He said that a network of technical education alumni should be created, which establishes contact with all the alumni located in the country and abroad and establishes a mentorship and support system with them.

Suggesting the celebration of Technical Education Day, the Minister directed to prepare a report regarding making the affiliation process of engineering colleges transparent. Principal Secretary Amrit Abhijat stressed on getting international cooperation in the field of technical education and also directed to take action on the instructions of the Chief Minister to prepare and implement new courses on mining. He instructed to keep the campus and main entrance of all government engineering and technical universities clean and properly displayed. Apart from Special Secretary Sunil Kumar Chaudhary, Vice Chancellors of all three technical universities and Directors of Government Engineering Colleges were present in the meeting.
