IGNOU professors are like Lord Hanuman, who did not realize his power. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said these things while addressing the 35th convocation of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on Tuesday. The ceremony was held at the Maidangarhi campus of IGNOU. He said that the work of the professors of IGNOU should be appreciated. A total of 2,91,588 students from across the country received degrees and diplomas at the convocation which is the highest ever. The event was also telecast live in all the regional offices of IGNOU.
The Union Minister said that I have come here as a student. A student is a state of mind. It is a thought. Wherever you are, whoever you are, if you want to learn, you are a student. Pradhan said that he has been a student leader and has now become education minister, but this moment of convocation is an emotional one. On the recent controversies regarding Hanuman Chalisa, the Union Minister said that tolerance is spoken and written about in our country. Sometimes we get advice from foreign countries also, but I think it is inherent in our democracy.
