New Delhi Municipal Council (NMC) Vice-Chairman Satish Upadhyay on Wednesday announced that the daytime secondary school for adult women in East Kidwai Nagar is soon being upgraded to class 12th. The schools are currently providing education up to class 10th. These schools were started in 1990-91 to facilitate drop-out students from any class to resume their education.
Visiting the school on Wednesday, NDMC Vice-Chairman Satish Upadhyay said, “The school aims to provide educational facilities for drop-out girls belonging to weaker sections of the society, especially those who have lost their lives due to family circumstances. Leaves studies.
He said, “Many women start jobs for their family income, girls whose parents cannot afford further studies or are expected to take care of their siblings. The school was started to provide education so that they can continue their education. NDMC vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay further informed that from the session 1994-95 the school was upgraded to class 10th level.”
He said, “It will soon be upgraded to class 12th. The school provides educational facilities to those who have already started employment but want to improve their educational qualifications.”
A total of 242 students have been enrolled in the school this year. As of April 2022, as per class-wise enrollment, 66 students are in the age group of 15 to 20 years, while three students are in the age group of 20 years or more.
