The demand for ‘postponement of NEET PG 2022’ is increasing day by day. As NEET PG aspirants gathered at Jantar Mantar, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written to Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya requesting to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam.
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET PG 2022) exam is scheduled to be held on 21st May. Many students are demanding to postpone the exam due to delay in NEET PG 2021 counselling. With this he is saying that we are not getting enough time to prepare for the exam.
In a letter to the Health Minister, the IMA has asked the Center to consider the delay in the deadline for NEET PG examinations and admission process. IMA states that NEET PG 2021 exam was postponed for 5 months and was conducted in September 2021. Subsequently, the counseling for PG admission was also postponed till January 2022 due to a dispute over OBC reservation criteria.
IMA shared that the counseling for few vacancies is expected to be completed by mid-May for most of the states. It will actually leave very less time between counseling and the new exam date. If a candidate fails to secure a seat, they will have around a week to prepare and appear for the NEET PG exam.
Let us tell you, earlier yesterday, Indian National Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had also requested the Health Minister to look into the students’ plea. Tamil Nadu’s ruling party DMK also came out in support for the NEET PG 2022 candidates.
For NEET PG exam date, no changes have been announced yet. The Center and the Health Ministry are yet to respond to requests from Twitter. Students are also protesting and demanding an adjournment in Delhi.
A petition has also been filed in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the petition on May 13. Updates on NEET PG 2022 Supreme Court result will be made available here as and when it becomes available.
