Chaudhary Charan Singh University has declared session 2022-23 zero in BEd colleges of six districts of Meerut division. Despite the order of the Supreme Court, all BEd colleges that do not upload the Performance Appraisal Report (PAR) by the stipulated date will come under its purview. NCTE of colleges across the country has also decided to declare session void on April 27 for not giving the report. In this sequence, the university on Thursday ordered to void the session of colleges not giving PAR in Meerut division.
Locks will hang in about 300 colleges
Most of the B.Ed colleges affiliated to the university will get stuck in PAR. Many shortcomings have been coming to the fore in these colleges including teachers, infrastructure and basic facilities. In such a situation, there may be locks in the new session in about 300 colleges between the session being zero. CCSU has more than 350 B.Ed colleges. For the time being, the university has not given PAR from NCTE and is waiting for the list of colleges which came under session zero. As soon as the list is received, all these will be out of the proposed counseling.
Selected colleges have submitted the report
NCTE had been instructing B.Ed colleges to upload PARs for a long time. Colleges across the country did not submit this report and some went to court against it. Recently, the Supreme Court accepted the decision of NCTE and asked to submit the report by April 2, but most of the colleges do not even warn. On April 27, NCTE held a meeting and canceled the session of colleges that did not submit PAR. In spite of lakhs of educational institutions, only 11,000 colleges have submitted PAR in NCTE. The PAR has to have a comprehensive assessment of the college at the infrastructural, academic, teacher level. It is believed that colleges that do not meet the prescribed standards will be closed. Even in CCSU, the number of colleges giving PAR is being told only 50.
