Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday asked the officials to take utmost vigilance regarding the health safety of school students and create awareness about the COVID protocol among them in view of the rising cases of COVID-19, especially in the districts of the National Capital Region (NCR). The spokesperson said, “In the last few days, there has been an increase in the cases of COVID-19 in different states. It is also having effect in the districts of NCR. In the last 24 hours, 103 new patients have appeared in Gautam Budh Nagar and 33 in Ghaziabad.
According to the spokesperson, “The Chief Minister directed that the rule of wearing masks in public places should be implemented effectively for all in the districts of NCR and in Lucknow. People should also be made aware about compliance of COVID protocol.

According to the spokesperson, Yogi said that we have to be vigilant about the health safety of children and students should be made aware about the COVID protocol in schools.
The Chief Minister also said that vaccination survivors should be identified and vaccinated in NCR districts (Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat) and Lucknow.
The spokesman said that at present a total of 856 active cases are present in Uttar Pradesh. In the last 24 hours, 1.13 lakh samples were tested for corona, in which the infection was confirmed in 170 people. In the same period, 110 people also became corona free.
He said that the progress of the COVID vaccination campaign is satisfactory, but there is a need to give more impetus to the vaccination of children.
According to the spokesperson, 100% of the population above 18 years of age in Uttar Pradesh have received at least one dose of the vaccine, while more than 86.69 percent of adults have received both doses. He said that 94.26 per cent adolescents in the age group of 15 to 17 years have been given the first dose, while children in the age group of 12 to 14 years will be given the second dose as per eligibility after the first dose.
