About 1.25 crore students of classes 9 to 12 studying in more than 28 thousand schools affiliated to the UP Board will have their own e-mail ID. In order to promote digital literacy, Secretary UP Board Dibyakant Shukla has directed all district school inspectors to make e-mail IDs of all students by May 15. Along with this, the website of the school and the e-mail id of all the teachers will also be made.
In a letter sent to the DIOS on Tuesday, the Secretary has made it clear that the work of creating e-mail IDs of children from class 9 to 12 is on top priority in the Chief Minister’s 100-day action plan. It is being monitored from the government level. However, despite several instructions, the progress of the work of getting the e-mail id is not satisfactory. The Secretary has asked to get the e-mail ID created by May 15 in any case. Issuing the proforma, all the information has been sought by May 18.
