murder at home
Three policemen have also been suspended in the case. The family members were constantly demanding a CBI inquiry as the role of the police in the murder case was suspicious. The student’s father alleges that on the intervening night of February 18-19, four people had come looking for Anees. One of them was in police uniform and also had a pistol. They entered and took Anees straight to the terrace, beating him up. After this, Anees was thrown down, due to which he died.
Police denied the charges
However, the police has expressed ignorance about the whole incident. Anees’s father’s allegations were vehemently denied by the officials of the local Amata police. Despite giving information at the time of the incident, the police is also accused of reaching the next day. Angered by this, family members and leftist student organizations are also continuously protesting from place to place. According to the information, the student leaders were running an agitation against Anees University for a long time. They were pressurizing the university to give grants to the students. This amount is about 130 crores.
CM Mamta had constituted SIT
Amid the pressure of continuing protests in the student leader’s murder case, CM Mamata Banerjee has rejected the demand for a CBI probe. The Chief Minister had constituted the SIT two days back to investigate the matter. The three-member SIT is headed by Additional Director General of CID Gyanwant Singh. The Chief Minister has sought a detailed report from the SIT in the matter within 15 days.
