Mumbai,(IANS)| Abhishek Banerjee is enjoying the success of his recent release ‘Rashmi Rocket’. The film highlights the gender test discrimination in sports that has ruined the lives of many athletes.Abhishek plays a lawyer named ‘Ishit’ in the film, who helps athlete Rashmi in her struggle and fight for justice. While the film has started a debate, it has also made people realize the importance of a good script.
This is an example of how a good film is made when good actors and good writing come together. Abhishek, who is one of the biggest casting directors in India, believes that actors alone cannot do wonders, they need a solid script.Talking to IANS, Abhishek said that it is a big misconception that cast a good actor, he will do something, the film will become a hit. We need a good script, we need good dialogues, we need a director who tells us where to go. We need a DOP to tell us that we want to look in a certain direction, so that the audience can see more of us in the scene.
“It is very important that good dialogues and good scripts are written. Actors are only a prop in the visual medium, it is a director’s medium. Of course, I do my homework. I work on my character and everything, but what happens in the endSceneDepends on how one is directing. It is a myth that good actors can do whatever they want with a bad script.”
