MUMBAI: Fashion designer Gaurav Gupta says he wanted to make the 20 years of actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the Cannes Film Festival a special memorable moment and it made her “beauty the former Vishwa Sudari” with a new concept. Gaurav told PTI-Bhasha over the telephone from Cannes, “Aishwarya is very beautiful and she has the complete glimpse of a woman. Throughout this journey I have come close to those who are wonderful and spiritual. Her beauty inspired me to think of the concept of ‘Birth of Venus’.” Aishwarya first attended the Cannes Film Festival in 2002 for the premiere of her film ‘Devdas’. As the global ambassador of the cosmetics brand L’Oréal, she has been a part of Cannes every year for the past two decades. During her long journey, she has made an impressive appearance on the red carpet. Delhi-based designer Gupta is known for his experimental sculpture inspired designs.
