The 75th Cannes Film Festival kicked off on Tuesday with style and humour. This year’s festival began with ‘Final Cut’, a French zombie film directed by Michel Hazanavicius. Films like Michael’s ‘The Artist’ have won several Oscar awards before this. Romain Duris and Berenice Bejo, who were also part of ‘The Artist’, played important roles in ‘Final Cut’. The film is a somewhat remake of the Japanese horror comedy film One Cut of the Dead.
This is how the film festival started
The film made people laugh in the giant auditorium. The film ‘Final Cut’ begins with a 30-minute sequence in which things go awry during the shooting of a zombie film. Although the Cannes Film Festival started off very well, what made everyone think was the maskless audience. Because despite the strong recommendation and the increasing figures of COVID, most people were seen without masks.
The highlight of the event was Zelensky’s speech
The highlight of the Cannes Film Festival’s Inaugural Ceremony was a video message from Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who made the audience realize that in the midst of all this there is a war going on in which countless people are being killed and a lot of damage is being done. Without naming Vladimir Putin, he said, ‘I am sure the dictator will be defeated.’ He said- We will win this war in any case.
The magic of Indian stars on the red carpet
Before the start of this magical night, many Indian faces were seen on the red carpet. Apart from Deepika Padukone in a shimmering golden and black sari, actors R Madhavan (actor and director of Rocketry), AR Rahman, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Prasoon Joshi were seen among many others.
